I Knead Coffee started as a custom order baking business based out of Bridesburg in Philadelphia by Carley Schwab. After Carley left her job in December 2019, she decided to start a business providing treats like cookie decorating kits and delicious cinnamon buns to the people in her neighborhood. After a few months, the business grew more popular. With the help of some family, I Knead Coffee moved into its newly renovated industrial kitchen to keep up with demand and their expanding menu. Since its inception in January of 2020, I Knead Coffee has fulfilled hundreds of custom orders and even provided catering for larger gatherings like weddings and craft fairs.

In the fall of 2021, I Knead Coffee expanded again to include a mobile cafe. The cafe on wheels is a beautifully renovated horse trailer fully outfitted to serve delicious desserts, hot and iced coffee as well as other seasonal beverages.
